Spanish 1

1. Reading and Writing: Continue working on Vowels Numbers Telling TIme

2. Speaking: Go to the student interview Getting to Know You to practice with a partner.

4. Vocabulary: Continue working on Basic Vocabulary for daily practice with the class.

Spanish 2

1. Reading and Writing: With a partner write a dialog shopping at una tienda de ropa. See the Restaurant Activity Packet link below for a list of restaurant words and phrases.

2. Speaking: Go to Money Numbers and Shopping to practice the dialog in groups of three people.

3. Grammar: Go to Guided Writing to answer the questions on your own paper.   Click on Direct Object Pronouns Spanish to complete the sentences aloud with the class.

4. Vocabulary: Go to the Shopping and Money Activity Sheet above to see shopping and money related vocabulary then complete the activities on your own paper. Be ready to say aloud for the class.

5. Culture: Go to All Saints Day in Spain to learn about the celebration and take notes. Be ready to discuss with the class.

Questions: When is the Day of the Dead celebrated? What do the winds blow back? Why is it celebrated? What do they do with the grave sites? What flowers do they decorate with? Go to Present Ser and Estar to complete the first page of the worksheet using the present tense form of the verb SER on your own paper.

Instructions:

  1. Write the complete sentence on your own paper
  2. Fill in the blank with the correct verb form from the chart and underline that verb
  3. Turn in at the end of the class for a grade

Go to Present Regular Verbs to complete the AR, ER and IR present tense verb worksheet on your own paper.

Instructions:

  1. Write what the sentence means in English
  2. Write the subject and your answer ONLY then underline your answer

4. Vocabulary: Go to Leisure Activity Packet to see leisure vocabulary phrases then complete the activity on your own paper. Be ready to say aloud for the class.

In 1892 this day became a legal holiday called Discovery Day? When was this day changed to Columbus Day? Why and how did Columbus day become a holiday? Who established this day as a legal holiday? What city in California changed  Columbus Day to Indigenous Day? Where did the names of the ships come from? Go to NPR to listen to the podcast then write a summary of the recording. 

Go to the link below to watch the short video clip about Columbus then write in English a things you learned and things that you found interesting or surprised you. Be ready to turn in for a grade.
