Spanish 2

1. Dialog practice: complete the following using Spanish ONLY in the class. If you have a question about how to say something you may say ‘Cómo se dice _____ en español.

a. Dialog “At the Pharmacy today for a grade: Finish writing and practicing your dialog ‘At the Pharmacist’ then be ready to say aloud for the class without your paper. Go to Spanish Pharmacy and Medical Vocabulary.  to Spanish pharmacy related vocabulary. 

b. Today: Begin writing a dialog about a trip to the grocery store.

1. Go to Conversation Starters to see a list of Spanish and English phrases then write a dialog with a partner telling about you. Include: your name, age, characteristics, where you live, what you like to do, about your family and anything else you want to share. 

2. Reading skills: From the Conversation Starters document

3. Vocabulary List: pelo, rubio, pelirrojo, rubio, castaño, joven, vieja, simpático, desorganizada, perezoso, bonito, guapo, malo, la mujer, el hombre, pequeño, grande

4. Go to Regular Present Tense Verb Conjugations to see the carts and sentences on conjugating present tense regular verbs in Spanish. 

5. Click on Georgia Spanish Salsarific to watch a video clip then discuss with the class.

a. Make-up: with your partner practice saying your shopping dialog for a grade.  

b. Today: With a partner make a dialog in Spanish (8 lines each) using the pharmacy related words and phrases from the document Spanish Pharmacy and Medical Vocabulary.  Be ready to say aloud without your paper.

3. Oral practice: Ailments from the pharmacy document. 

4. Body parts bingo: Make a five by five bingo grid using the body parts vocabulary from the document. Write your words in English with the center space being ‘gratis’.

1. Go to Subject Verb Infinitive to review the document with the Subject + Verb + Infinitive assignment. Write the Spanish sentences on your paper skipping a line. Then do the following

a. be ready underline the subject once, underline the conjugated verb twice and circle the infinitive.

b. translate the sentences into English.

2. DUE: Oral Dialog for a grade today. Go to Spanish Department Store to review shopping vocabulary then continue saying your dialog aloud with your partner in Spanish and without your paper.

3. Go to Spanish Pharmacy and Medical Vocabulary to see a list of related words and phrases in Spanish then make a dialog with a partner ‘at the pharmacy’. 

4. Spanish Only: Last ten minutes of class FOR A GRADE. Once the timer begins you may not use any English in the class. If you have a question about how to say something you may say ‘Cómo se dice _____ en español.

Spanish 2

1. Go to Thanksgiving Spanish Vocabulary to see the chart for verbs + infinitives and the vocabulary list then make ten sentences in Spanish telling what you are going to do over the break. (This is a separate writing from yesterday)  

2. When you finish writing your sentences make a voice recording in Spanish then email to me at amfrey@k12.wv.us. In the subject line put ‘Thanksgiving Spanish Dialog’. 

3. Click on Inca Beliefs to find out more about the Inca then write a summary in English about their beliefs and rituals, what they are known for. You may do a web search to find more:

Answer these questions:

How was their human sacrifice different from the Aztec people? What did they do with heads? What messages do their colors tell? What are the strange large stone designs that are seen from the sky? Where is the hidden city? Who was the sun god? 

4. Click on the video below to watch the slide then do a web search on culture and traditions of the ancient Inca.
